In the final hand of the heads up battle between Rock and Tracy Stearman, there was an all in and a call on the turn of this board: A♣ Q♥ 8♣ T♠. Their two hands:
Ben Rock: K♣ J♥
Tracy Stearman: T♣ 5♣
Ben’s broadway straight was in the lead, but Stearman had some outs with her flush draw.
The 7♥ on the river meant Ben Rock won the pot — and at this point, the dealer had to do a count down to see if he covered her.
He did by just a little bit, and with that hand, we have our newest PIFT champion! Congrats, Ben Rock! And congrats to Tracy Stearman on her second place finish tonight, this after final tabling last night’s $250 NLHE “Winners Shown.” Both Rock and Stearman won $1,109 for their finishes tonight, with Rock also taking home the trophy.

Unofficially, through out this weekend, we raised $8,396.60 for Ronald McDonald House – Upper Midwest. This sum of dollars raised and donated by all the generous poker players in this region is truly, TRULY epic! So awesome.
Within the next week or two, be looking for us to add a blog post with a pic showing a successful delivery of every dollar that was raised. A big thank you to Our Response for the $1500 matching gauntlet throw down offer to Saturday’s players, and a big thank you to the 3 businesses that pledged charity matches: Good Day Cafe for its 100% match up to $1000, We Fix Fireplaces for its 10% up to $100 match, and Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings for its 10% up to $100 match. Lastly, a HUGE thank you to all the poker players who pitched in donations of all shapes and sizes.
Ben Rock, and Tracy Stearman are now battling heads up and agreed to chop, meaning each get $1,109 a piece, and play it out for our spiffy pineapple trophy. The two are very close in chip count.
On a flop of 5♥ 2♠ 2♣, Ben Rock bet 25,000. Steve Krogness raised to 70,000, and Rock made the call.
The turn was the 2♥, and Rock checked. Krogness moved all in for about 200,000. Rock went into the tank for over a minute, sitting on a 265,000 stack of his own. Finally, he decided to call.
Krogness: 3♥ 3♠
Rock: 7♥ 7♦
The river was of no help to Krogness, and with that hand he finished today in 3rd place. Super awesome work, Steve!
Action has been fast and furious at the final table, still without any additional deals made.
We observed Scotti Kunkel get all in on the Tx 9x 7x flop for about 50,000 against Steve Krogness. After their discards, Kunkel revealed QQ and Krogness JT suited.
Unfortunately for Kunkel, an 8 on the turn and 5 on the river ended his day just short of the coveted “Crazy Pineapple Trophy.’
We wish a sincere, hardy thank you to you Scotti for being here with us all weekend long firing in all of the PIFT events. Well done on cashing in 2 of the 3!
